That *is* a newsreader. Better than OE, for sure. Certainly less
likely to break the machine that you're using.

Close following is not the only need for fast reaction times.
Avoiding an improper lane change by another driver is one,and braking for
pedestrians is another(but not all the reasons).
Cellphone conversations cause drivers to not scan as they would if giving
full attention to driving.too.They become oblivious to what's going on
around them.

And such "compensation" does not work for all situations one can expect to
encounter in daily driving.
