Thank for you post Justin. The hub cap think doesn't bother me much, but I
generally agree with what you're saying. The tire pressure think is
definitely more serious, since it could blowout completely at any time and
cause the car to swerve unexpectedly. And I'm not too found of cloth roofs
either. I assume you are posting mainly as a troll, so I'm going to let my
pet peeves fly at you.
(1.) People who leave the trailer hitch ball and extender in the hitch
receptacle. This will cause major damage to anyone that is unfortunate
enough to even lightly hit into the rear of these battering rams.
(2.) Cars with not so clear plastic over their license plates.
(3.) People who ride their brakes or leave there directional signals on for
miles.
(4.) Loud stereo systems and loud motor cycles.
I've got more, but I guess those are the major ones. Thanks, I feel better
now.

That's to make sure you cagers will at least hear us even if you don't
see us. :-) I tried running stock pipes for a while when I got my last
bike (it was the first bike I ever bought new that was all stock when
I got it) but I got tired of having cages change lanes right in to me.
After I changed to a slightly louder (I don't like really loud pipes
like drag pipes) I have had very few problems with cages coming at me.
But when I go through residential areas at night I am light on the
throttle and keep the rpm's down. I hate other bikers that gun it at
night in a housing area when they have drag pipes.

No, I'm not being a troll at all! If I were a troll, I would have posted
more imflammatory or something that goes against what most people believe
to start an argument.Because we spend so much time in our cars and because
this nation was built on freedom of movement, cars are VERY important and
unfortunately there are a lot of knuckleheads out there driving, so pet
peeves are important.

No, I'm not being a troll at all! If I were a troll, I would have posted

People drive what they are. If they're poor, their car reflects it. If
they're smart, their car reflects it. If they're stupid, ....

Our cars are an extension of ourselves, and this is funny, because at the
same time they give us a false sense of privacy and our personalities
become more likely to do things that we wouldn't do if we were walking in
a crowd of people. Example, cutting people off, or giving them the bird
is less personal when we're driving - or so we think - and so we're more
likely to do these things.

My biggest pet peeve is stupid people. People who have brains but don't
use them. For example, riding with the left foot on the brake. Might
decrease your reaction time from .5 seconds to maybe .4, the .1 second
needed to swap from gas to brake pedal with the right (right as in side
and right as in correct) foot. At the 60 MPH most of us do in a 50 MPH
zone, that's 88 feet per second. One tenth of a second is 8.8 feet.
That's just the length of road you save from /starting/ to brake, not the
length you save overall. But, riding with the left foot on the brake not
only intermittently blinks the brake light at soon-to-be-extemely-annoyed
followers, but for ever blink of that light, the brake disc comes into
contact with the pads. Heat. Friction. Loss of horsepower to the road.
Increased fuel consumption. Worst of all, decreased brake efficiency, and
when brakes are hot, they don't brake as well. Furthermore, it heats up
not only the brakes but ever other part in the vicinity: rotors, rims,
tires, bearings, effectively wearing everything out. These are the same
dip****s that don't know how to check their oil themselves.

Another example of stupid people is the Navy guy that totalled my second
car. I loved that car. It might have been underpowered, but it was very
shiny, straight as an Amish man in San Francisco, and had an immaculate
interior. Until the red light. I came up to it and stopped, as any
intelligent person would. I hear tires screech, and look in my rear-view
just in time to see this guy try -- and fail -- to avoid hitting me by
swerving. Had he hit me straight on, I would have lost my taillights, my
rear fascia, and maybe my muffler, but the body would not have been nearly
as damaged, as the force of the hit would have been more evenly
distributed. But no, he chunked the corner and brought the left rear
taillamp up to the wheelwell, and bent the hatch thereby breaking the
glass in both the hatch and the left quarter. Not to mention the wrinkles
from the driver's door around to the right taillamp (which was not
damaged). His excuse? He was watching a "Hobby World" sign, which had
flashing neon lights shaped like planes, trains, and I think boats. Yo,
dip****, there's a red light ahead!

Let's see... I don't mind bikers wanting to be noticed, but two things
irritate the **** out of me: headlights on high when lowbeam is
sufficiently blinding as it is, and ESPECIALLY high-beam headlights that
flash at oncoming traffic in a "Look at me and don't hit me" fashion.

I'm sorry, but two things: people like me see you anyway. We see that
there is an object moving at 50 miles an hour. It's the stupid people
that don't, because they're not paying attention to the road. Instead,
they're talking on cellphones, eating cereal, reading the newspaper or
some book they just can't put down, or watching the TV that's supposed to
be facing the passenger side, or putting on makeup, or shaving. The way I
see it, if people moving at 50MPH in two directions isn't enough to get
these people to pay attention, neither are your flashing headlights. They
just serve to annoy people.

What's just as irritating to me is the flashing high-mount TAILLIGHT. I
see two dimly lit lights turn into three brightly lit lights. I don't
need the middle one flashing at me. I PAY attention. It's the people
that make this nonsense necessary that also make it a requirement that I
pay more for insurance simply and ONLY because of my age and gender, two
of the things that I cannot be discriminated against, and yet, the
insurance companies do! I don't see how my having a dick and testicles
makes me any more likely to cause an accident. Yeah, I get angrier
quicker because of testosterone, but it doesn't make me stupid behind the
wheel. I've been driving for 8 years and have not caused an accident yet.
I have gotten speeding tickets, and all but two of them was in rural,
low-traffic areas. Of the two that weren't, one was because I had just
gotten that second car, which had almost twice the power of the beetle I
had been driving, and I wasn't used to it. The other of the two was for
not slowing down early enough as I went from a higher limit to lower
limit. The rest were all rural, where trafic was less than 2 cars per
every quarter mile of road. Mostly, bored cops.

I hate speed limits. I'll save you the argument against them.

Frankly, I think that if people cause any kind of accident, that only then
should their insurance rates increase. That way, smart people like me
aren't forced to pay out the ass for something I don't need based on what
genetalia I have and how long ago I was born.

When's the last time you saw a man putting on eyeliner while driving to
work?
