road circuit racing PC game?
Hi,
I've been out of the PC sim racing world for a few years. I greatly enjoyed GPL and Sports Car GT (I'm Bendito in the GPLRank). Now I want to get back into it. Can you recommend some non-oval road-circuit PC racing simulation games? The game review sites I've visited seem to prefer arcade games, and I can't really trust their opinion on auto sims. cragwolf |

The playable demo from www.liveforspeed.net doesn't show the whole capability of the game, since it just have 3 standard road cars on a quite easy track. If you buy the two licenses (S1+S2 are needed for each 18 US$), you will have plenty of fun. Next to the simulation racing you will like to linked Database/Webinterface of LFS, which you can see at www.lfsworld.net which allows you to manage your racing times, compare them with other etc. Next really interesting Game is rFactor, which will be released (hopefully) in the next days. You can preorder it since two or three days and there is a (bit older) Demo available. Check out www.rfactor.net . Greatest Feature of rFactor is definitely the moddability, which will allow to have a great amount of tracks and Cars, so have a look at it, when its released. 2 other Games which are based on the old ISI (See rfactor.net above) game engine are GTR and GT Legends from Simbin. Both are fullprice Games (GTR is available, GT Legends will be available in the next weeks) which do include either FIA GT Cars or old Racing Cars of the 70s . Both games are playable singleplayer Demos available, so just check them out. Hope this helps you a bit, Daniel http://www.team-gear.de.vu/ |
