1986 Accord - fuel pump relay problem - HELP!

Thought my fuel pump went out - replaced it, but still won't run. Replaced
relay next, and it ran for around 50 miles and quit. Now won't start.
No electricity to fuel pump - blue wire from ignition coil dead. #1 fuse
going to relay is hot. I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated
- I need a car running by Monday morning!

When a fuse gets hot, it sometimes means there's a corroded or loose
connection in your fuse box. Once the fuse gets too hot, it will blow,
since it's easier to blow a hot fuse. Tegger's FAQ also shows a fix for
wobbly fuses. It's the 'last resort' if you're not willing to take a lot
of time. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with your real problem
:-(

Yes, it's carburated. I'm thinking the problem is electrical in nature -
most likely in the fuel cut-off relay.

Ah, then you do not have an EFI Main Relay, since you don't have EFI.

The fuel cut-off relay for the carb uses the tach signal from the coil
(blue wire) in order to keep the fuel pump going. No blue wire, no pump.

The solution is to probably to get a new coil.

Want to get it started by Monday morning. Do what Preludeprob
did, heeding Jim's warning.
