Default Bubble Wall

I want to add a bubble wall to my 55 gallon. I had an old Hagen Optima that
I bought for a non fishy purpose about 20 years ago, but it's toast. I don't
imagine it's worth fixing, so what's a good alternative, Whisper, Tetratec?

It should be cheap, quiet and have amazing output! But I'd settle for
reasonably quiet and decent output. Should I use a couple of the long
airstones for my wall or use the weighted tubes?

I don't really know the differences in cost between the different brands, but I
do know that it takes more power to force air through air stones, hence you
would have to get a more powerful/expensive air pump to do this.

Back in the day, I had real good success with Whisper products, but you
really need to be buying the very expensive units. Keep in mind that these
bubble-walls and such will promote algae growth rather heavilly, and is the
number one reason I don't use them anymore.

In terms of diffuser, I really enjoyed the bubble appearance of the weighted
tubes, as long as I could hide the whole contraption. You need good pressure
to flow air down the whole tube, though, so get a capable pump.

Thanks Arthur,

I was looking at the TetraTec Deepwater, as I read good and bad about the
Rena pumps and they are a bit pricey. I was thinking of using the ceramic
weighted tubes, so it's good to hear of your experience.

Too bad about the Algae though, but the fish will appreciate it.

I don't absolutely apperceive the differences in amount amid the alterebrands, but I do apperceive that it takes added ability to force air through air stones, appropriately you would accept to get a added powerful/expensive air pump to do this.
