The fuel pump is in the tank and the pickup sits low with a strainer on it.
Possible that the pickup is not sitting all the way down or part of the strainer is plugged. Also possible that there is water in the tank which sits on the bottom unless it is stirred up. I'd start with changing the fuel filter located near tank on passenger side. Failing that, try adding several treatments of drygas to get rid of the water. If that doesn't work, the tank has to be dropped to inspect the fuel pump. Not out of the question that the fuel pump power is being disturbed by a faulty connection that opens on high lateral G's. Might be worth driving with a fuel pressure gauge attached so you can monitor if it actually is a fuel pressure drop when it cuts out. The 6 cyl engine should be at about 40psi (iirc) Oppie "nordo" > wrote in message lkaboutautos.com... > sucking air from where? > > -- > Message posted using > http://www.talkaboutautos.com/group/...makers.saturn/ > More information at http://www.talkaboutautos.com/faq.html > |
