Not if you're getting the car serviced by a dealer.

But why get it serviced by a dealer, unless near new? They're not
difficult cars to service, and any competent mechanic should manage it.
Fault finding might be more of a problem - but that's nothing to do with
the cost of spares.

Achtung! Cliche and/or trite saying:

Just came across an interesting development over at MB UK (wash my mouth
out).

For cars over three years old they are now offering a 20% discount on labour
and 10% on parts. A service team manager openly admitted this is to
encourage owners with out-of-warranty cars to stick with Merc for servicing
rather than go to independents.

The scheme applies to all the factory-owned dealerships, which means the
main metropolitan areas like London, Bormingham, Glasgow etc.
(I don't know whether something similar has been introduced by the
franchises but I would not be surprised if it has.)

At Merc they are very happy to see you with an old car. Service depts are
run separately from sales and have to make their own profits. On certain
older cars (the 190 being a notable example) the price of parts was dropped.

At MB UK sales and service depts are sometimes even in separate locations.

Well, old chap, it might help if you give a hint of what it is supposed to
be about.

The various links reposted don't seem to satisfy your requirements.

Now that's a different question for the OP entirely...
