Hi. The term TDI or Turbo Direct Injection it is a name Volkswagen
gives to their Turbocharged Direct Injection diesel engines. TDI is
realloy a marketing term that combines 2 very common automotive
concepts that have been used in diesel engines for a very long time.
The two separate automotive concepts involved a Turbocharging or
using exhaust gasses to spin an intake compressor; Direct fuel
injection does what the name implies...injects fuel directly into the
cylinder.

Try google searches for both concepts - you will find plenty of
information.

And please ignore the resident xenophobic trolls who would rather bury
their heads in the sand and call people names than recognize the world
as it has evolved.

I was born in Taiwan and have bought items and shared thoughtful
correspondence with Daniel. I can't say I thought it was all that
funny, but I'm not terribly offended either. It was an over-
generalization based on valid observations. About all I'd say is
that making fun of a guy's poor command of the English language was
a low blow.
