Default Dodge Caravan Clock Spring

My wife has a 98 and the air bag light came on and the horn stopped
working. I talked to a guy at the local Firestone and he told me to let my
Dodge dealer know I knew Dodge was aware of the problem. He told me to let
them know I expected Dodge to pay for the repair(warranty long gone). I
picked up the car yesterday, no charge.

They've just begun anothher recall for this which includes extending the

My 98 Grand Caravan just went in the shop Monday afternoon. I saw the
recall yesterday and because my van has 120K on it, I am wondering if they
will replace the spring for free. According to the recall, it is iffy. I
will be calling them today to see if they will. I have had problems with
this spring everytime I get it serviced because they tilt the steering wheel
all the way up and I have to drive with it all the way down (I am short in
the body).

Any other experiences would be greatly appreciated as well.
