99 Jeep Wrangler Blower motor not working
I have a 99 Jeep wrangelr. 4cyl no A/C. The blower motor does not come
on with any setting? I have removed the blower and hooked it up to the battetry and it spins smoothly. Using a Multimeter. I also have 12volts at the connection that plugs into the motor when the Dash switch is on and in any position. I have ready about a recall for this year where the ground wire needs reconnected but i am unsure which wire this is. Anyone know which wire is the ground wire for this recall? Any Ideas why i have 12 volts at the motor but it doesnt spin? Its seems to me that if the ground is not making a good connection the AMPS may not be sufficient for the motor to spin but i cant figure out a way to test this theory. Could a bad resistor Pack also cause this? Thoughts? |

Recall 99V117000: Instrument Panel Ground Screws Loose The left side and right side instrument panel wiring ground attachment screws could loosen over time. If the left side screw loosens, the instrument panel gauges may not function when the headlamps are turned on. If the right side screw loosens, the defroster blower motor may not function. Dealers will remove the ground screws, drill a new pilot hole adjacent to the original hole, and the screws will be reinstalled in the new holes. Owner notification began May 31, 1999. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Chrysler at 1-800-992-1997. Also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Auto Safety Hotline at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236). Any idea which is the "right" ground wire? There is one under the dash that is connected to the Body but it is not loose and i chacked it with a meter and there is zero resistance between the wire and the vehicle body. I also checked betweeen the body and the battery terminal and also zero ohms. |
