Default black paint - hotter car?

I personally own a black and silver car at this moment. On a hot day,
the black car is extremely hotter than the silver. I'm no physicist
so don't ask me why, but that answers the question.

obviously, a darker colour absorbs more of the sun's energy than say white.

A white car tends to be cool in summer, black very very hot.

But, face it. Black cars are way cool, who cares if the windows need to
be down?
