Rust repair rear fender mounts
Has anyone documented the repair of the rear fender area, specifically
rusted out fender mount holes? My '71 beetle is far beyond the point of just welding in the nut inserts. Upon inspection from inside the car, it looks like the PO had some sheetmetal welded over the rust out, and mounted the fenders with "self tapping" bolts. This repair is undetectable from the outside right now, but since I'm taking the whole car down to bare metal, I want to do it right, using as little filler as possible. Hopefully someone has taken some pics of this repair in the past and can post a link? I could use some inspiration before taking this on. Thanks, Mike |

Rust repair rear fender mounts
A comprehensive repair panel set is available for the rear of the bug. The
bumper mouts are available seperately or if more is needed rear quarter panels inner wing(fender) sections, chassis mounts etc etc. Check your local aircooled VW supplier or search online.
