Darned thing would read full until it got near 1/4 tank, then the needle would swing rapidly up and down, then settle on 1/4 tank and read correctly from there on. Just got in the habit of keeping in my head how much fuel SHOULD be in the tank and understanding that when the gauge read 1/4 tank, it really was 1/4 tank. Pump and sending unit are integrated on the '98 Intrepid? That's a change from my '88 Daytona, where they were seperate units. I guess it makes more sense to combine them, less confusion when the shadetree wrench-turner crawls underneath the vehicle... Raymond A. Don't know about the 98-04 Intrepid but on the 93-97, the fuel pump is changed through an access panel in the trunk. Don't need to crawl underneath or drop the tank, and you hardly get dirty (except for your hands smelling like gasoline). |
