Default TJ Clutch

Driving a 1999 TJ Sport 4.0L with about 42000miles.

The clutch pedal is usually quite stiff to push in, but after driving on the
highway for about 5-6 minutes the next time I push in the clutch pedal it is
smooth and easy, but each time after that it is stiff again.

Any clues as to what to look for?

I've never heard of it. Probably the biggest reason the TJ uses
hydraulics is to minimize inconstancies.
