2006 Kia Sportage Odometer
Sunday I am pulling(towing) my 06 Sportage across country. 5,000 miles
to California, another 5,000 back to New England. What do people do to not show the mileage? Can one disable the odometer for a trip? I looked at the owner's manual and all it showed was a "cluster" fuse. That implies the dashboard. Thanks. Gerry |

You sound like such a wonderful person, I hope I never meet you or buy anything you have ever owned. Your honesty is overwhelming to say the least. |

Are you sure you can flat-tow the Kia without transmission damage? That aside, most newer vehicles have electronic controls for the speedo & odometer. "Back in the day" working at the RV shop we would install a speedo disconnect solenoid in the speedo cable, so that when towing behind a motorhome, the vehicle would not register mileage. It would receive a trigger from the tail lights on the motorhome, and disconnect only then. If you are really worried about it, try a tow dolly or auto trailer from U-Haul. That might be the easiest solution. Clay |
