Brake question
Can air in the brake system cause intermittent trouble? My 2001 Ranger with 4 wheel ABS has too much pedal travel and weak brakes. The brakes on this truck used to work very well. Usually after moderate braking the rear drums will still be cold to the touch. Other times they will get get quite warm. The pedal firmness also changes from day to day. I think there's air in the system somewhere, but the dealer says no. They bled the brakes twice. Wheel cylinders are working fine, and shoes are properly adjusted. Thanks for any help, Henry |

A bad proportioning valve can cause the rear brakes to not work, and also cause changes in pedal travel. "Henry H. Hansteen" wrote: > > Can air in the brake system cause intermittent trouble?
