LED light conversion
Hi folks,
I just replaced all my tail/ parking and side marker lights with LED's on my fiberglass CJ. Now I need to find a light duty flasher for this set up. One guy told me I can bury a light bulb in the line so the resistance would be enough to activate the flasher. I thought the turn signal bulbs would be enough current draw but apparently not. Ideas anyone? Thanks |

They have a unit that will operate low amperage lamps for signals. I have used the units on custom motorcycle setups. Might also try an electronic flasher, as some of them will trigger on the signal rather than amperage. |

I thought the electronic flasher didn't care how many bulbs it flashes.
I know the prick still flashes just fine when I have a burned out signal bulb now. The last flasher had the good manners to stop flashing when a bulb was bad so I knew when I had bulb issues. I did find Badlands make a load ballast for digital and LED applications, but then the system would require a pulse generator (that runs off a separate AAA battery). so this could get more complicated than I thought. I thought someonebody would have figured out a plug-in for this by now? .. Thanks for your help guys, Pup |

See I was always trying a 552 and even a 532 standard flasher.
I'll have to find an electronic one. I'm learning a lot doing this project! You guys are great, I get a kick outta lots of stuff I see here when I pass by! LED light conversion
They are quiet too which is a pain in the sun in a CJ with the top
off.... I have considered wiring in an LED above the steering wheel with a couple of diodes to let me know when my signal is on. I specifically bought the 'loud' flasher too! LOL!
