Default Fuel gauge light and ventilation regulators

Hi,

Just got my '98 156 TS back from the dealer's workshop. The car was there to
repair a rust problem on warranty and to adjust the front tread. Now when
the car is back I have two new problems: The three regulator knobs (heating,
ventilation,...) are much harder to operate than before. I don't know what
they did! Additionally I have noticed that the background light of the fuel
gauge is off.

Does anyone have an idea how I can repair that myself?
Does anoyne have an idea why they fussed with this? Does it have anything to
do with the repairs they made?

Regards,
Martin

plz. don't reply to the email

You can remove the centre console yourself by following this description:

Then you have access to the three controls.

It was somewhere under the car. Unfortunately I never saw it myself.

Mogens,

Thanks for the info. I decided to bring it to my dealer anyway since it's
their fault and the risk to mess things up is too high.

Martin
