HOT RUMOR: EA dumping Need for Speed
http://www.gamestooge.com/2008/12/14...speed-license/
Electronic Playground has announced some news that’s startling at first glance, then logical: Electronic Arts is dropping the venerable Need for Speed franchise. "EP has learned that Electronic Arts has cancelled the development of new titles in the once popular racing series. The cancellation has not yet been made official by EA. We’ve attempted to obtain confirmation, and at this time have yet to get an official response from Electronic Arts. The franchise’s removal from the gaming giant’s roster follows the cool reception and disappointing sales of the latest in the franchise, Need For Speed: Undercover. The first Need For Speed launched way back in 1994 for the 3DO, PC, and original PlayStation, and would eventually become one of EA’s most successful franchises, only to see decline in recent years. This could have a big impact on developer Black Box Studios and the entire Canadian gaming industry as a whole, so you better believe we’ll be keeping an eye on this." Considering EA hasn’t exactly been enforcing any sort of quality control on the series since Hot Pursuit 2, one can see where the license has been driving on autopilot, so to speak. It’s a darned shame, too, since NFS when it works is an exciting arcade racer. |

Hunh? Hide under a troll?
You did post the full article yes, and link to your blog as well, that doesn't make it not spam. PS - NFS isn't considered a sim by any means. > wrote in message ...
