Problem solved
After several days of testing and many starts, everything seems to be fine
now. No fuel smell and predictable starts, just like new. It was a faulty fuel pressure regulator and a cracked vacuum hose attached to the regulator. About $60 in parts and a few minutes to replace it. Thanks to those who responded. Dave |
