Default 1974 Vette needs engine

I just got bad news today that my 1974 corvette L-82 need an engine
transplant. I would appreciate any and all recommendations on what my best
choices are. It is a manual trans. Thanks all for any help provided!

Would the ZZ4 fit under the hood without any alterations?

Given enough money anything is possible..

HOWEVER dropping a ZZ4 or similar crate motor in is really no big
deal... BUT every header installation I have ever done had a "few"
problems ....so I would expect some small problems that should be a
snap to fix... Side pipes were never on my list of moods to any car
I have owned but again I expect it should not be very problematic...
