Default Anyone still with "Ol' Red" LWFF?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

is there anybody (besides me ;-) still running the Ol' Red LWFF?

I am thinking of shutting down the Logicorner (egroup at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/logicorner/ ) and also trying to pull off my
LWFF-related website (which is still online at
http://www.free-ftp.org/jensschumi/LogiCorner.htm but I don't have any access
since ages:-/ )

All the best,

JensSchumi

Hard to tell, really..

My LWFF sort of seized up due to inactivity years ago (when I reinstalled it
as something an inexperiencend driver could abuse instead of my, then fresh,
red MOMO Racing wheel) and it was binned. However, before this happened my
LWFF had loosened to a stage at which it wasn't viable without a ball bearig
upgrade.

I always hate to see legacy simracing sites go (we-race.net is an example),
but I doubt anyone not benifitting from your efforts (and thus not needing
what is written on your site, or long since having archived it) is still
running an LWFF.

I'm on to a G25 nowadays, not because I particulary like this model, but
because my Driving Force Pro (plastic peace of junk, but great FFB) concked
out and I couldn't buy a new one. I should have poked BRD about the Speed7FF
eons ago, but I still haven't got around to it. :-(

I still run the original red LWFF! I can't believe games as new as
Grid still work with her.

I have a Driving Force Pro for my Playstation, which has much better
and smoother feedback, and even the grip is comparable to the sticky
rubber Red.

I'll be sad when I have to retire Red...

Hey, I don't post much anymore, but I also still have one as a wheel
on the LAN. Have a MOMO for my primary wheel.
I feel like I should get a G25, but I don't spend nearly the time I
used to on race sims.

I just chucked mine in the bin a month ago. But it had been sitting for
a few years. The red rubber grips were nasty, so nasty to touch; too
much oil from the skin.

Could Logitech make a *two* motor *cable* driven wheel? Please? And put
all the freakin wires to the pedal base, with just one wire going up to
the wheel housing? PLEASE.

I'm still using my Old Red, with Jens' ball bearing mod. Got a G25
now too, which I love for the shifter, the clutch pedal, and the 900
degrees of travel, but it can't touch the Old Red's silky feel and
force feedback detail.

Oops. Should have said Jens, if you can leave Logicorner up, please
do. If I ever need to replace the cable or the pot in my Old Red,
your photos and instructions for disassembly/assembly would be
priceless.

If you must take down the site, would it be possible to bundle up all
the instructions and images into a PDF that could be posted somewhere
for people to download and save?
