Default 2000 Caravan Sport and remote starter

I just bought a 2000 Dodge Caravan Sport and it has a factory alarm in it. I
want to remove the remote starter that I installed in my '96 Caravan and put
it in the 2000. Is there going to be any problem with the alarm sounding
when I try to remote start it? If so, can it be disabled?
Also, it has a luggage rack on the roof. Are the cross bars removable, if so
how do you do it? I have an inflatable rack that I strap on the roof when I
carry my Ultralight trike wing to the airport, or grass strip and I need to
remove the crossbars because they will be in the way when I strap on the
inflatable rack.

Thanks,
Snydley
