Power loss at 4000 rpm GTV 2.0L
I took my GTV out for a blast the other day and I experienced
distinctive hesitation at around 4000 rpm. Every seemed fine up until then, but as soon as take her over 4000 she holds back, (similar to the rev limiter) then struggles her way on up to 5000, 6000. Then yesterday I started her up on the driveway she started to splutter when I revved to 2500/3000 rpm but then cleared her throat and and was fine until 4000 when the power loss was evident again. So yesterday afternoon I took a trip over to Alfanet in Bristol, to have a diagnostic test, which showed no faults. But the chap there said that the air flow meter may be faulty so he swapped one with another GTV that he had, and asked me to try it over the weekend. On the way back over the Severn Bridge I put it to the test, and it appears to have made no difference. Any suggestion gratefully received. Steve 2000 GTV 2.0l Twin Spark |
