Default Real ID Act in the Senate

Looking at the newswire on the Internet, it looks like the Real ID Act
is in limbo and the Senate is not too receptive to it. It is attached
to the Emergency Iraq and Tsunami Relief funding which is HR1268. It
is mentioned that when the Real ID Act is stripped, members of the
House especially F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr will probably have a
temper tantrum because their draconian legislation was stripped.

This is the time to contact our Senators and tell them that we do not
want the Real ID Act and ask them to hold their ground and dig their
heels in and not give into the demands of the House. The Real ID Act
especially the driver's license provisions are considered outrageous
and deserves to go nowhere.

One of the most outrageous provisions is the mandate that states must
participate in the Driver License Agreement - http://tinyurl.com/633y5
(PDF Document) in terms of sharing driver's information like driving
record, addresses and the most private part, your Social Security
Number. Not only will the info be shared interstate but also
internationally starting with Canada and Mexico (reference page 4,
item 11 in document). Other countries could be added later such as the
EU.
