OT Help with XNews

I'm at wits end - trouble for a half-wit like me! Anyway, I'm using X-News
and can't figure out how to get rid of headers. If I try to delete, they
get a "Score" added to them (which I also can't comprehend the use for) and
nothing I do can get rid of them. I have tried discard headers>selected;
discard headers>all; Mark Selected as delete... The best I've been able to
do is get them to disappear for the session, but next session, they're
back!
