Default 1998 Caravan gauge issue not clockspring help?

I have a 1998 dodge caravan.... it has a few issues... Currently the
gauges are at zero the entire instrument panel is not working. It
started everytime I got the oil changed within days the gauges would go
to zero or to 120 and stay there.... then they would come back.

Then it did it when it would get humid...or rain.. then back.

It developed the clock spring symptoms and when the dealership replaced
it it was perfect for 2 months then started again. The dealership has
been through a ton of things to no avail.. the last thing they said was
an estimate of $1300 to rewire the electric... yeah right....

Anyway they are now out of business..... and the gauges went out in
October 2 days after new tires, brakes and rotors. I made my last
payment today... and it needs inspected this month......the gauges have
not come back this time.

I have read through some of the posts to find an answer... if anyone
has a starting point I would appreciate the advice... all i need is an
odometer reading to pass inspection... the gauges don't even have to
work UGH....

thanks in advance

Not sure if this year has it but look at the battery positive post and see
if there is an orange wire that may be loose at the battery. B+

Listen. You have ALL gages dead ALL the time. A problem like that is very
easy to find. Anybody with the least bit of troubleshooting skill will have
that figured out in no time. I know that it seems to you like the van is the
problem, but your real problem is you have people that can't fix anything,
or won't because their management doesn't allow it.

Now that it's no longer an intermittent, you have a people problem, not a
van problem. Find some new people.
