I used to sell honda's. New and Used. We had demo cars we got to
drive. We drove them hard. Demo's were also the service loaners. A
demo car costs the dealer the same as a new undriven honda. I would
never purchase a new car without going the route of "$______ over
invoice". In other words you will end up at the same price for both
vehicles, the demo and the new one. This is regarding a model that is
in good supply. Unlike say the cr-v or s2000 when it was first
introduced. You can expect to pay a good margin over invoice based on
market demand. Go to MScarpoint or edmunds.com. You'll get the
lowest price and not have to deal with someone trying to sell you a
demo. You'll know the invoice amount and how much the dealer is
earning from the sale.

The idea of little metal shavings inside an engine due to
manufacturing is something that belongs in the 60' and 70's. Engine
manufacturing has progressed well beyond that.
