Default 2000 dodge stratus rear brakes

The rear brakes on my car make alot of noise when i first apply them and
doesn't stop doing it until the brakes heat up. Went to the dealer for
new brakes got the same noises. The dealer said the noise was a result of
the brake pad compound.I was wondering if any one else has had this
problem and did you solve it.
