I was out of town. Got back about a quarter to 4, tried to get in but
qualifying was done. I hope to make Thompson next week. Congrats to the
podium.

I got this weird 'bad-tire' thing again. I swear I don't know what causes
this. It only happens rarely. It's like the game is simulating a down-tire
or something.

It always starts right after a Pit-Stop, and goes away after I pit and get
rid of that set of tires.

At one time I thought it was my brake pedal hanging up a bit but that has
proven not to be the cause.

Whatever is causing it, the results are the same. I ended up in the wall
and my day was basically done from there.

Congrats to Neil and the Podium!

Indeed, good run guys.

Very dissappointing showing for me as I do rate muself as a "Truck" driver
and at Milwaukee in particular (fixed expert setup suits my driving style).

All was going well 'till abourt 100 laps in. I pitted for tires and fuel
(gambling I'd be able to pit under yellow sometime during the 2nd half) and
got understeer as a result, even on fresh tyres. Whether this was just me
overdriving the cold tyres or a result from hitting Larry (stay put until
you know you're clear of the field) or bouncing off the wall when the front
just wiped out on the previous stint (no damage indicated), I don't know,
but it didn't go away and, even after repeated stops, I was having to throw
the truck at the corner to keep up any semblance of carrying speed through
them.

Obviously, the law of averages turned against me and I caused a 2nd yellow
for the night through simply overdriving. After that, I just cruised it home
for a -4L finish. Not the kind of result I was looking for.

Jan.

Great fun, although I did lose the same amount of laps to the quick guys as
in this race. ;-)

In my defense, I did have to stop twice to free my foot from the brake
pedal. <g>

I'm sure it was fun. Thanks for the pics.

The foot problem sounds like something that would happen to me. You'd hear
me cursing under my helmet from across the track. :-)

"(stay put until you know you're clear of the field)"

I explained the situation after it happened. Sorry you didn't hear it.
