Best I've heard of at RSC is a 1:02, which sounds about right. Don't shift more than you have to. 3rd gear is fine for some of those slower corners. 4th through T1. -- David G Fisher |

Sounds about right - I'm at pretty consistent 1:03's with some setup tweaking, at least when the tires are in good shape. A 1:02 would be a very good lap. It took some more tweaking to figure out what to do to get decent framerates with this sucker, too - the auto settings had it running like a slideshow. Had to bail from the incar entirely and tweak the bumper cam to get a centrally-located view since the cockpit view takes the framerate below a stable level. Same with RBR, which is even worse - I suppose the DX9 graphics are nicer in these new games, but I don't see enough payoff to justify the huge performance hit. You either have to turn off all the eye candy and lower the rez to the point that they look worse than older games, or drop $300 on a video card so they can look marginally better. RFactor is very graphically demanding, even compared to GTR(demo); here are some FRAPS numbers I took from doing a solo lap in the cockpit and then one from the bumper cam. 30FPS worse than GTR incar, and about 50 from the bumper view - even running at lower resolution! I can run GTR at 12X9 with 2XAA/2XAniso acceptably well, even with nineteen AI - but not this new baby...
