2001 Explorer Sport 4.0L V6
I just bought my first SUV, a 2001 Explorer Sport 4.0L V6, with
103,000 on the clock. At first I was, and honestly still am, a little trepedatious about buying a car with that kind of mileage. Don't get me wrong, I have had it for two weeks now and I could not be happier with its performance. It is a very smooth ride, and the 4X4 is a BIG conveinence in the snow--but what kind of preventative maintenance should I be doing to make sure that I can enjoy this car for many, many miles to come? Forgive me now, I know less than nothing about cars. There are just a couple more issues that I would love to get some feedback on: 1) The turning signal and brake light on the rear left side don't work. The right side does, just not the left. I have been told that it could be a blown fuse, and I should check it out. Just one problem though--Where is the fuse box?? 2) The keyless entry. Naturally, I bought this vehicle from an independent, non-franchised dealer, and naturally he has no idea what the code is. Any ideas? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
