Default Alfa 155 cam-chain?

Hi,
I just bought a 1994 Alfa Romeo 155 2.0.
I've been told that thse things has a cam-chain instead of cam-belt.
Can anyone tell me how long a life such a chain has (years/mileage)?
(And is service an expensive operation?)

Also, I'm having trouble with the lit on the petrol tank. The lock
doesn't seem to work properly.
Can anyone tell where it's cheapest to get spareparts like that,
preferably online?

Thank you in advance,
Christian

I had one with 140k miles on it with no major issues. It was being changed
at that point since it was getting loose and starting to rattle.

IIRC there are in fact two. The top one is really rather ssimple, the
bottom is a sump / head / front off the engine job, so less so. Either one
should leave you with change from GBP300
