Default Need tire recommendation from owners of 94-97 Honda Accord

I have never been thrilled with the longevity and performance of the
Michelin Energys that Honda provides stock on the 94-97 accord. And the
X-ones which I used in the past have been discontinued. To those who
own a 4th Gen Honda Accord, can you recommend another tire model? My
priorities are smooth & quiet ride, decent handling and steering feel.
I have no winter requirements where I live.
I tried the new Goodyear assurance tires, however the ride was bouncy
will very little steering feel. I wonder if it is best to keep within
the "Grand Touring All-Season" category for this vehicle.
Thanks

I agree the Michelin Energy tires are awful - designed for mileage and
deliver not much else. I currently have Michelin X-One on my 97 accord
- handles very well - superb rain tire. Hard to break loose and if it
does you can recover - don't think it is possible to recover traction
with the Energy tires.

Suggest you also consider Bridgestone Potenza - see tire rack for info
- apparently quieter and very good handling. The X-One is fairly loud
over concrete - some roads with a lot of ridges really make them howl.
Also buy one of those $10 digital air guages - the old style jobbies
with the pop out stick are not at all accurate - also run your tires at
the max suggested on the door plates - which is 32# cold on my accord.

Hi there - I just put a set of Yokohama Avid TRZ on my '00 Accord- excellent
in all respects (comfortable, quiet & good handling) - my car feels a lot
more sure-footed on the road (compared to the Michelin X-ones that I
replaced). Well rated (on tirerack.com) and very reasonably priced compared
to the
Goodyears.
