Then explain why in my 88 Olds the magnetic clutch engaging and
disengaging when the A/C compressor cycled on and off was dimming my
headlights when my alternator was only putting out 30 amps.

Every car I've owned cycled the compressor. I've not owned any that changed
cabin blower/fan speed automatically.
