dificult removing rear drum on 2002 neon

Default dificult removing rear drum on 2002 neon

brake drum on 2002 dodge neon will not come off.
backed off starwheel many turns. drum is free spinning, but still won't
come off. any ideas.

hit the sides with a big rubber mallet.....shoes are hanging up inside

OR-- the drum is rusted to the hub. Remove the big nut under the cap
and pull the hub and rotor as one unit.

it went from drum to rotor, hmmmm. Anyway, Spray some penatrating oil on
the spindle of the hub and the wheel studs and hit the edge of the drum
with a large hammer, it will release.
