The Chrysler-designed automatic transmissions with at least 4-speeds, originally called the Ultradrive, need the special fluid, ATF+3 or ATF+4. They've been very troublesome, and even the newest version seems to have a higher than average failure rate. If I owned one, I'd get the fluid changed every 15,000-20,000 miles.
