and again...
So, tonight I found my remote parking spot with no cars on either side, 5
empties each side. Some ****ing yahoo in a beamer full of kids pulls up right next to me. I watch and of course, the back door flys open so hard that it pops right back closed again, then some kids rolls out the back. It was clearly as if the dad said, "get it son...I'll give ya a five spot if ya get it good". This completely amazes the **** out of me. Saving grace? It missed my car by about 1/4", but I seriously wanted to spin out a pile of rocks onto the beamer trash...I didn't. TF |

I've found it is often much safer to park WITH cars than to park away from
them. Pick your spot, find one with lots of room, and then park in nice and straight and in the middle. When you appear to be paranoid or too good to park with the rest, many resent that and want to show you that you are not. Park in the middle and most ignore you. Also, it is less likely that a shopping cart caught be the wind or carelessly let go downhill will roll into you, as they are as likely to hit a car on either side of you as yours. Also, it doesn't stand out someone absently mindedly drives along looking at their purse or the back seat and crashes into you out in the wide open spaces. The other option is to park out on the far edge of the lot where the employees typically park, and then you can park among the cars to shelter it and not worry about someone opening a door into it as they have probably been there a few hours before you and will be there a few hours after you so no one will be coming out and leaving while you are in the store. The employee parking is a good idea, thanks.
I was thinking about that last night, too, at a different place. TF spoke thusly:
> Some ****ing yahoo in a beamer full of kids pulls up right next to me. > You need to just sell this car and get a bicycle. You're gonna have a freakin heart attack worrying about where to park it, how to pay for it, where to get it serviced, etc. Remember how much happier you were before you got this car? -- Shut up, Dave. -|>|- Diode -|<|- '68 L-79 Coupe '79 Triumph Bonneville |

Lol, so wrong.
Actually, my 6 hour drive home with it was rather happy.
