Easy question for a vw expert!

I was fiddling under the hood of my 74 love bug replacing the speedo.
After installing it i could not get the bright headlight bulb in the
speedo to burn. Also the right head lamp will not burn on bright.
Everything else works. These may be two unrelated events? Question . If
the headlamp is out will it cause the bright light on the speedo not to
burn?

if the headlight is out, it will not cause
the dash lights to not "burn"...

check connections. wire brush, spray
with contact cleaner...

light behind spedometer might need
to be twisted in it's socket to make
contact with ground (metal instrument
casing)

There are 4 fuses, one for each beam.
One of the Hi-beam fuses supplies BOTH the indicator and
one of the Headlamps.

Don't be fooled by fuses that "look" good; often they
don't make good contact or have broken links.
