Too bad about the job, not having an income sucks, I am there due to a
car accident right now. Can you not pull it out and solder it if leaking or flush it good with one of those over the counter chemical mixes you put in for a day and then flush like crazy. They sometimes work ok and I have soldered tons of rads successfully. Mine now has 2 cores clipped and soldered... Plumbers solder and flux is needed, electronic solder just won't do it. The usual problem with the GC rad is the plastic tanks crack, mostly
just above the spigot on the lower right side. Doubt if there is an epoxy repair that could handle the pressure. Which also makes them iffy from a junkyard unless taken out and handled with care to avoid damage to the tanks. I found a shop in my town that sells new plastic tank radiators for just a little over $100... Mr Cool Radiator (512) 339-1224 915 Sagebrush Dr Austin, TX Not sure of your budget, but in my estimation, a $100 radiator is cheap. Don't let the dealership scare you away.... ask around locally. __ Steve .. |

I have seen several epoxies specific for that. One is a welding
compound you need to cut a V notch for and torch. I used it once and it worked long enough to sell it. The fix was obvious so the new $50.00 owner knew. You really don't want the side reservoir under pressure, convert to
a recovery reservoir like all new cars manufacturers still use. That POS is probably the major reason Renault went under.
