Hey moron, you don't know what the slippery slope of imprisonment without a
trial can lead to.

I do know what it is, because I lived in Eastern Europe and it has happened
to my dad. What is happening here is not what you liberals imply. As a
matter of fact, by implying that Bush is a Hitler, and Guantanamo is Gulag
you are seriously minimizing the evils conducted by both Hitler and the
Russians. Then again, you are a liberal, so you are probably not educated.

And neither of you is able to conceive of the concept of "grey".

No wonder you gloss over it, reactionary. Your argument seems to be "it
isn't as bad as what the Russians did so its ok".

Who implied Bush is a Hitler?

Your education seems to have been non-existant.

There isn't anything gray about three years in a camp without a trial.

grey works in theory, laws are defined by a series of many black and white
issues

its like a circle, it looks round, but in reality its a bunch of tiny
straight lines.

I know your kind. In Western Europe during the cold war, you would have
been one of the so-called "left-wing intellectuals" (also called useful idiots
by the Communists) the Soviet disinformation and propaganda apparatus
manipulated so effectively to their advantage. You would have dennounced
the "imperialist" USA and sung praises to Stalin. You mean well, I'm sure,
but you're not too bright.

Yawn. Is that the best you can do loon, "the commies are coming!"?

What part of "imprisonment without trial" is eluding your large ego and
tiny mind?

Imprisonment without trial is customary practice in war. In fact,
trials of prisoners of war are typically (but not always) against
various international conventions.

The Bush administration is doing plenty wrong w.r.t the Guantanemo
prisoners, but holding them without trial isn't precisely one of them.

I'm about to take my second thousand-mile road trip of the year in my
'89, the high-miler among the seven Corollas and Camrys, of model years
86-98, serving as daily drivers in my extended family.

It won't win any races or turn heads in front of any nightclubs. What
it will do is burn a gallon of the cheapest gas in town every 30 miles,
and half a quart of oil the whole trip, in its unmolested engine; hold
75 in fifth gear on all but a couple of the steepest grades; keep me
reasonably comfortable even across the Mojave with its original air
conditioning; and start on the first bang every time, hot or cold, wet
or dry.

When the odometer hits 210, 000 somewhere on the return trip, can I
officially promote it from "mediocre" to "marvelously mediocre"? It
gets me wherever I want to go at about as little integrated cost of
ownership as one could hope for, and that aspect of performance has a
charm all its own.

Cheers,
--Joe
