Sounds
I'd like to ask a couple of questions. You all seem very knowledgable,
and I've learned a lot from the posts I've read already. I just bought a '98 Mustang with a 3.8 engine. My first question concerns the factory stereo system. Do the factory units have any RCA(Line out) jacks for adding an amplifier, or do I have to go from the speaker outputs? Also, does the stereo have a power antenna lead, or any kind of turn-on lead for an amplifier? Of course I'll bring the main power for the amp straight from the battery, but I'm wondering about a remote turn-on lead only. Secondly, I'd like to add just a bit of growl to the sound of the engine. I don't want to make the car loud, I just want to go one step toward making it purr like a cat instead of a kitten! Thanks again for what I've learned already here. The posts are very informative and interesting! |

Thank you for the info Dinsdale. I'll track down that dark blue wire
and check it with a meter before I utilize it. I'm not happy to hear there aren't any RCA line outs, but I can get around that. I figured they used a line level signal to go from the factory CD player to the factory radio, so I was hopin' they'd have line outs from the radio too. Sam |
