'96, was an older couples pampered toy; most likely a third car. I bought it
a year ago December with 45M on it, its about 60M now. Up here they tend to
sit half of every year, hence the low mileages.

Actually, Pat, I never had that problem with Belle in the 12 years I
owned her. Don't know about the previous owner, but Belle was 17 when
she died and I never had to unclog that line. She had nice cold AC as
well.

My '92 has 145,000 miles and has no clog in the tube but living in the
delightfuly pleasant summertime temperatures of Phoenix I seldom need
the refrigeration....

Pat,

My '91 that I sold last year did not plug up. It had 137,000 miles on it
and the AC never gave me ANY problems. ( Gee, now that I think of it,
my '91 didn't have AC! I guess that's why. :-) ) AC in Seattle
???????? :-)

Bruce Bing '03 LS ..... with AC. :-)

No question that a lack of A/C helps eliminate A/C problems. My '91 also
has no A/C, but it was removed by the previous owner for weight savings
and to increase the amount of room available for the turbo setup.

Great for a track car in Texas, but about the same as you not having a
heater during the winter.

Now I get to go have the miata towed, if it will ever quit raining. This
is the first time in 8 years that a miata has left me stranded, but at
least it was only a couple of blocks from home.

If it had waited another 20 miles to snap, it would not have been good
at all. It did snap while cold, which seems typical even if the mileage
was not.

Pat

Hmmm, I wonder why the ones I have worked on and the one that I used to
own have it happen so regularly.

You must be casting the proper spells. :-)

It has never been a big problem, but definitely something that I have
expected to deal with on any A/C equipped NA that I own. Not sure about
the NB's and NC's.

You do keep your car a LOT cleaner than mine, that may have something to
do with it.

Pat - waiting out the rain, again.

Erm, yes, I guess I am a bit anal about keeping my cars clean. At
least the '04 has clear coat so I don't have to run out and drive her
off every time it rains.

Hope you're not in one of the areas that got 16" of rain in a couple
of hours yesterday. We could use some of it up here - just not all at
once though. Had a nice thunderstorm roll through last night and
they're forecasting a better (worse?) one for tonight - hopefully it
will take some of this humidity with it!

A woman never gives away all of her secrets, and we wouldn't understand
most of them anyway. ;-)

"drive her off"? Was that a Freudian slip or intentional?

I am 27 miles from Marble Falls, which flooded heavily last night and it
looks like more to come.

The lake front houses around the corner are watching the water levels
very nervously.
I just want the rain to stop soon so that I can pull my Miata out from
under the tarp and fix it.

Vixen, that is cool; fast, pretty and sleek.
I won't name mine, it hurts too much when I tear them apart......

Oops! That was supposed to be "dry" her off. Of course, a drive to
shake off the rain drops is always fun too.

I had the opportunity to buy Belle back from the wrecker but couldn't
face the thought of tearing her apart.
