2002 mustang gt
I had a 1990 5.0 now I have picked up a 2002 gt with 17k on it. Question for the group. What are the low cost ways to add HP? or what are a few ways lowest to highest cost. I love the new car. I am not great with my hands so I have to have the work done.
much thanks |

from what i have read, it appears that putting underdrive pulleys on
is the cheapest bang for the buck. some claim 12 hp gain for 120 bucks. some say cold air, should be the next cheap upgrade. i haven't done either of those yet. i put on magnaflow catbacks for $324.00 to the door. they made a NOTICIBLE difference in power and performance, plus a little louder than stock. i have BBK equal length headers sitting on the floor next to me, but am waiting until it gets at least 50 degrees out to start that job. stil have a lot of snow on the ground.. On my 2002 GT I added an Accufab Plenum and 70MM TB. Dyno showed around a 13 rwhp gain after the installation. Martin 2002 GT 5spd 243 rwhp 285 rwtq |

Don't know what else you've done... but some 3.73 or 4.10 gears will make a
huge difference. Also, subframe connectors are very nice... keeps your car very straight & makes it handle noticeably better. -Mike -- A happy kid behind the wheel of a 98 Mustang GT Cold air intake FRPP 3.73 gears Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers (self-installed woohoo) Hi-speed fan switch 255/60R-15 rear tires Subframe connectors Aluminum adjustable clutch quadrant > wrote in message ... > from what i have read, it appears that putting underdrive pulleys on > is the cheapest bang for the buck. some claim 12 hp gain for 120 > bucks. some say cold air, should be the next cheap upgrade. > i haven't done either of those yet. > i put on magnaflow catbacks for $324.00 to the door. they made a > NOTICIBLE difference in power and performance, plus a little louder > than stock. i have BBK equal length headers sitting on the floor next > to me, but am waiting until it gets at least 50 degrees out to start > that job. stil have a lot of snow on the ground.. > > On Fri, 4 Mar 2005 01:02:53 -0500, "msbom" > > wrote: > > >I had a 1990 5.0 now I have picked up a 2002 gt with 17k on it.
