About my wheel rims

Why do my wheel rims get this black?

what you have is the typical complaint that all "bmw owners have" :/ & hate its brake dust thats stuck on there. thats simply caused by driving the car down the road that creats a static charge on the rims and when you use the brakes bang!! the dust gets attracted right on to the rim. and a lot of times is hard to keep them clean because of that. However there is really good product out in atlanta that a chemist has just come out with ok. its brand new on the market and its called "RIM ICE" look for it this stuff! it will remedy any bmw or mercedes rims! from allways looking black. when i find the AD i will post it up for you

Keep them clean, at least twice a month, inside as well as outside, use a
bent brush to reach the internal areas.
Wax them once a quarter.
Mine have 5 years, 80000 km and look quite brand new. I never used any rim
cleaning agent.

Possibly, but when the rims are maintained on a regular basis, no need for
aggressive agents.
Plain water and soap are enough.

You apparently don't know what I'm talking about.
There is no agressive agent involved. Just water. Couldn't be
anymore passive than that.

Since their disclaimer reads "Not recommended for the following surfaces:
high gloss, polished, dark, brushed, satin, faux, bare/polished wood, or
stainless steel", are you certain it's safe for rims?

Magic Eraser contains a fine abrasive scrubbing compound, much like Soft Scrub
and Bon Ami, as well as a bleaching agent. They may be comparatively mild, but
they're still "aggressive agents."

Many pool players use it to clean their shafts, and its abrasive qualities are
very evident on wood.

Other than the fact that my wheels are neither wood nor stainless
steel, yes.

Just don't use the ones that have the scratch pad on one side.
