MC 2100 carb
Anyone running the MotorCraft 2100 carb on their 258? I have all of the
parts together, and have rebuild a 2100 I picked up from the scrap yard. Just looking for any pointers before I start. Thanks |

Nothing, other than I start with three and half turns out for the
idle screws. Then I don't have to worry about keeping it running, while I adjust. Good to know, I understand they end up around 2 turns when you are done,
does that sound about right? I have not put any thaught into the cable linkage yet, do you have a photo of your linkage? I have seen a few from searches and some from ebay pictures. But the more the better. "L.W. ("ßill") Hughes III" > wrote in message ... > Nothing, other than I start with three and half turns out for the > idle screws. Yes, if you were SMOGing then start from an idle speed of one
thousand and lean it to about eight hundred. I like the slowest speed best hot idle, and turn them out a half turn. Feels good for my next cold start. See what you may do with your stock linkage, maybe adding another bell crank will convert it to the direction you need. I do use a cable on my T-Bird: http://www.billhughes.com/tbirdCable.jpg But for off road, it would be nice to be able to reach down and puller her off. Honest Officer, the peddle stuck to the floor through all three gears.
