Default Cooling fan always on

Hi,

I have a problem with my 1999 156 TS that my cooling fan is always on.
I have replaced the switch and relay with new but the fan is always on.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might be?

The switch is not more than a yes/no in the "-" (ground)circuit.
Guess there is a wire befor the switch that grounds somewhere.

Thanks. Tracking down the problem is not going to be easy.
