Have you actually driven it, or are you simply believing the p.r.?

One place where you can really feel the improves physics, is over bumpy surfaces and curbs. In 1.0 the car started "oscillating" really easily and was generally pretty hard to control over curbs. Now it's much better and you can actually use the curbs in places; of course you still can't go crazy on them. And I don't see why you shouldn't believe the "PR". They're not selling the mod, so they shouldn't have any reason to start an EA-style PR campaign, no? Anyway, I like the 1.1 version a lot better than 1.0. With the physics improvements and a couple of other fixes it's a clear choice for me especially as you can copy tracks and car from the previous version. So, I don't agree with the comments that it has been "dumbed down"... it is probably more hassle for the user to copy the tracks and cars over but as I see it, it's better to have it this way than no mod at all. |

I thought the tyres in 1.0 were far too forgiving for racing tyres.... |

The reason I mention it is because John P's statement, "I want to make one
thing clear: The physics are not 'watered down'" is soooo Richard Milhous Nixon ("I am not a crook"), n'est pas? But I have to agree with you - the behavior over FIA-spec curbing is vastly improved. With 1.0 it was as if a giant claw came out and hooked you to the inside. OTOH, in 1.1 there are some obvious anomalies. A realistic top speed for the Sauber is more in the order of 250+ mph than the 225 I observed with the new minimum wing angle. Good point about Nixon. He really should have said "I am not a crook, relative to other politicians". > But I have to agree with you - the behavior over FIA-spec curbing is > vastly > improved. His sarcasm escapes you. But it's not about NSR so that's understandable
