Default Air Bag Light on and Now Horn

My five year full service extended warranty expired last week on my '99
Grand Caravan ES. Today the air bag light went on and I lost my horn. I have
a dealer appointment for 06/05.

Any idea what would have caused this?

Eddie---> Thinks a new car may be in my future

Sounds like a bad clock spring. Chrysler has had a lot of problems with
them and now has a recall that covers the clock spring for the life of the
van. That means NO CHARGE.

I wonder if my '90 Daytona was covered by that. I had to replace its
clockspring. I wound up doing it myself, and I remember having to solder
something, though I forget what (I think it had the wrong connector or
the connector was missing from the one I got or something). Fixed my
horn problem though, and my airbag light only comes on when I start the
car. I assume it's all working now.

I just had the same problem. It is a bad clockspring but the recall only
covers specific clocksprings that were made at a specific factory. You can
call Chrysler directly to find out if you'r covered.(1-800-853-1403)
Even if you are not covered, they will make a record of it and if enough
clocksprings brake, they will issue another recall,(I hope!). I just paid
$255 to have mine fixed. Good luck.
