92 accord needs new countershaft speed sensor ( any idea where it is?)
Does anyone have any idea the counter shaft speed sensor is on a 92
accord? i have gone and jumpered the little blue connector, actually i have done this a few times and got different codes like 8, 9 , 15. i asked alot of people which i should fix first and i was told the first one. So i fixed number 8 which was a shift soleniod and that took away and code 15 as well as 8. all i have left now is 9 which is the countershaft speed sensor. i went out and bought i haynes manual for the car thinking that it would be in there but it just tells me to take it to a transmission shop. i have fixed and replaced enough parts on my car that i think i am capable of replacing on more sensor. If anyone has any idea or even pictures of where it is that would be greatly appreciated. either reply to this message or send an email directly to me at Brendan |

Go to autozone and they will do a free 4 digit sensor reading for you -
this will identify the specific problems. Had a speed sensor to go on my 97 accord - surprisingly autozone's aftermarket sensor was more expensive than one from the on line honda parts guys in Rhode Island - google honda auto parts. Replaced 2 speed sensors - they are on the top of the tranny case on the passenger size - easier to cut away some of the plastic shielding so you can get to them. Somebody on this site said to replace both speed sensors - cost about $60 each - takes 20 minutes to replace. |

Code 9 refers to the No. 1 cylinder position,
it's called a crankshaft speed sensor this sensor is found in the distributor.
